Hi friends, my name is becca!

I first started sewing back in November of 2015 when a friend challenged me to give it a try, even though I had always said I would never touch a sewing machine or needle. But hey, they say you shouldn't knock it until you try it, right? And boy, was I surprised at how much I enjoyed it! In no time, I had my own little stash of sewing supplies and a Brother sewing machine that I affectionately called the 'Costco Special'.

I started off watching online tutorials to learn the basics and focused on making practical items like totes, pot holders, and clothing hacks for my family. Then, my mom (aka Mama Nancy) dared me to try quilting, and after a lot of resistance, I finally gave in and made my first quilt. And guess what? I was hooked! I even tried my hand at free motion quilting, with some hilarious struggles along the way.

As I gained more confidence, I decided to tackle a more challenging project - a block of the month quilt called Gravity by Jaybird Quilts. Let's just say, it was a humbling experience and that quilt is still a work in progress. But through classes at my local quilt shop, I learned so much and even discovered my love for batik fabrics.

I started my YouTube channel, 'Sew Becca', to share tips, tricks, and techniques that excite me with others. I may not be an expert, but I love learning and stepping out of my comfort zone. I hope to inspire others to tackle their own bucket list projects, big or small, and enjoy the satisfaction of a finished product. And let's be real, who doesn't love a shelf full of fabric?
